About the musicians:
Andrea Zanchetta (violin)

Andrea Zanchetta was born in Italy. Since the age of 15 he has given over 1500 concerts as soloist and chamber musician. He graduated from the State Conservatory of Venice with high distinction in violin, string quartet and chamber music performance. He has won prizes at international competitions for violin and chamber music, such as the Premio Gorizia in Italy and others.
Andrea’s teachers and mentors include the world renowned violin pedagogue Zinaida Gilels, Franco Rossi, cellist of the Quartetto Italiano, pianist Eugenio Bagnoli and Henryk Szeryng.
As a soloist and chamber musician Andrea has played in many important venues among Europe, Japan and Australia. In recent years he has been focusing on the Italian virtuoso music of the 18th and 19th centuries on both modern and baroque violin, bringing new life to over 50 different works by Vivaldi and many rare works by Paganini and Tartini in performances with the string orchestra Interpreti Veneziani. Several of these concerts were broadcast on television in Europe and Japan. He has recorded 12 CD’s for the Rivoalto and Nuova Era labels.
Andrea came to Hong Kong in 2007. He has appeared as a soloist with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
Nancy Loo (Piano)

Recipient of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award 1978, Ms. Nancy Loo is one of Hong Kong’s most versatile artists. She currently teaches piano at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is often invited to host music talks and master classes, and to serve as a juror for piano competitions.
Loo attended the Juilliard School on scholarship, where she studied with Adele Marcus. After graduating with a Master’s degree, she studied with Vlado Perlemuter in Paris and Guido Agosti in Italy. She was First Prize winner at the Fourth Rina Sala Gallo International Competition in Monza, and has won awards in many other international competitions, including the Marguerite Long International Competition in Paris.
As a pianist, Loo has given solo recitals and performed with orchestras in England, Europe, North America and Asia. Locally, she has appeared in the Hong Kong Arts Festival Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
