About the musicians:

Phoebe Tam (Soprano)
Phoebe Tam obtained her Bachelor of Music degree and Professional Diploma from The Hong Kong Academy
for Performing Arts, receiving multiple scholarships during her studies. She subsequently obtained her Master of Music degree from the Mannes College of Music in New York under full scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund. Tam was one of the young artists under the Jockey Club Opera Hong Kong Young Artist Development and Education Programme.
Tam has won many local competitions in Hong Kong, and has recently reached the regional round of the 32nd International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, participating in the final rounds in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She was also a semi-finalist in the Mondial Chinese Vocalist Concours in Taipei. Her operatic roles include Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Norina in Don Pasquale, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Mimi and Musetta in La bohème, Violetta in La traviata, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Ninetta in La finta semplice, Monica in the Medium, Despina in Così fan tutte, Sivene in Le cinesi, Angelica in Suor Angelica, Micaëla in Carmen, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, Cupidon in Orphée aux enfers and Metella in La vie parisienne.
Phoebe has also appeared as soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mendelssohn’s A Hymn of Praise, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Faure’s Requiem, Dvorak’s Mass in D Major, among many others.

John Lee (Piano)
Hailed by La Verdad, críticas de música, as “an immensely talented young pianist displaying absolute control and unwavering technique, combined with elegance, and natural phrasing” John Lee has quickly won over audiences and critics alike following his début performance with the Murcia Symphony Orchestra (ÖSRM) in Spain.
John has been a frequent winner in international competitions. He was awarded the First Prize in the Watford International Piano Competition, CLAMO International piano competition and the Hong Kong International Piano Open competition. He was the recipient of the Hopkinson Gold Medal in the Royal School of Music’s Chappell medal competition. He also won the Silver Medal in the 16th Chopin International Piano Competition in Asia and in the 79th Steinway and Sons International Youth Competition.
A recipient of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund, he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, studying with Ms Julie Kuok and Professor Gabriel Kwok. Upon graduation, he was awarded his Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music, under the tutelage of Russian pedagogue Dina Parakhina.
John has been a frequent performer around the globe, playing extensively in the UK, Spain and China. Recently in 2021 & 2023, John was invited to perform in the RTHK Beethoven 250th anniversary project and the Rachmaninoff 150th anniversary concert series. Both concerts were broadcast and extremely well received.
