About the musicians:<\/u><\/strong>

Artem Konstantinov (cello)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Russia to a family of musicians, Artem continues and carries on the long and proud tradition of the Russian cello school. He was educated at the Moscow State Conservatory followed by doctoral degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in Lodnon. He was privileged to be taught by famous cellists- Mstislav Rostropovich, Natalya Shakhovskaya, Stefan Popov and Alexander Rudin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His playing is distinguished by a full of rich and strong sound, subtle phrasing, filigree and virtuoso technique. Among his many public performances, pride of place are taken by his 2001 premiering of Shostakovich\u2019s Cello Concerto No. 1 in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen followed, in 2003, by the premiering in China of Prokofiev\u2019s Symphony-Concerto for cello & orchestra, in the same cities.

In 2006, with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, and as a part of the World Shostakovich Festival, the first in Asia and China, he premiered the  Shostakovich\u2019s Cello Concerto No. 2 in this part of the world. Several composers around the world have dedicated compositions to Artem records for the HUGO recording label.

NIKOLAI ALEXANDROV (Piano)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nikolai Alexandrov was born in 1971 in Moscow. He graduated from Moscow Music College in 1990 and Moscow Conservatory in 1995.  At Gnessin Music Academy, he studied with Prof. Lina Bulatova and obtained a doctorate in 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A soloist of the State Concert Organization “Mosconcert”, Nikolai has appeared in numerous concert halls and festivals across Russia and Europe.  He performs regularly at “Moscow Autumn”, an annual international festival for contemporary music. His chamber music partners include cellists Sergei Sudzilovsky and Mikhail Utkin. He has appeared with Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Since 2004 he has worked in China as a soloist with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
